DM Tips: Sometimes The Players Know Best

There may come a time in your campaign where you may be at a loss for what should happen next and you don't really know what to do. This happens even to the best DM and in situations like this, it may be best to see what the players want to do.

In the question above, the DM now has a fun storyline to work with since a player wants to rise to power. Provided the rest of the party are willing to back an adventure to make this happen it could make for a fun side-story while you work on the next adventure. In this situation, perhaps in the party's effort to gain favor for the member wishing to become the Pope they scorn some people and as a result may now have a power that is growing while they focus on the Papacy.

It can't hurt to ask your party what they want to do because you never know when they may give you an idea for an adventure whether it lasts a single session or it lasts a few months of sessions.
