DAY 10: Craziest In-Game Experience?
One-Third of the way through and things are about to get interesting. There are 2 in-game experiences that I recall as being the wildest ones. The first was in my first campaign. Our Scout had died and we found that there was a way to resurrect him by performing a ritual in a subterranean temple. The problem was that we didn't know what order we had to do with the objects we had which included the Scout (who at this time was being kept alive by an amulet), the amulet, a knife, and a clay jar. We spent about an hour trying to figure out the best order to combine these things. Ultimately the ritual became a game of the Scout saying, "Did I die? Crap.. That wasn't it..."
The second craziest in-game experience came in my second player campaign, the party for an unknown reason decided to attack each other. My cleric decided to not get involved, but rather document the attack in "The Book of Svante" while the others fought. Eventually, the town guard came out to stop them at which time he took his carriage and rode back into town. While this seems calm, the crazy part was that the party killed one of it's members and nearly lost another who was downed on his horse, but because he was strapped in remained on it. He stabilized at -8 and rode off into the sunset and was not seen from again. From that point on, we didn't have party conflicts, but it was certainly odd how divisions formed quickly. The final odd snippet is that the entire encounter started from Svante encouraging the battle, but no one from the party every knew that but the one surviving co-conspirator.
